Mission-driven work can ask a lot of the people doing it. You may be carrying responsibility for a team, navigating organizational challenges, making difficult decisions, or simply trying to keep up with everything that matters to you—while also wanting a life outside of work.
Coaching creates space to step back from the constant noise and look at how you’re navigating it. Our work often touches four interconnected areas: clarity, steadiness, presence, and leadership. These aren’t separate tracks or programs. They overlap and shift depending on what you’re navigating and what you want to work on.
Clarity
When everything feels urgent, it can be difficult to think beyond the next problem. Coaching creates space to sort through competing priorities, make sense of complexity, and consider what matters most. We may explore decisions, patterns, possibilities, or the questions you’ve been carrying without enough room to think them through.
Steadiness
Work often comes with uncertainty, urgency, difficult conversations, and problems that don’t have simple solutions. We explore what happens when those pressures show up—and how you want to respond rather than automatically react. This may include looking at stress, boundaries, expectations, perspective, and the practices that help you stay grounded.
Presence
It’s possible to be physically present while your mind is somewhere else—replaying a difficult conversation, thinking about tomorrow’s problems, or carrying work into time that was supposed to be yours. Coaching explores what helps you be more fully present for your work, your relationships, and the parts of life that exist beyond your role.
Leadership
Leadership can mean making difficult decisions, supporting staff, navigating organizational dynamics, communicating through uncertainty, and figuring out when to step in—and when not to. Coaching provides space to examine how you’re showing up as a leader, what you’re taking on, and how you want to respond when the pressure is high.
Coaching Approach
Meaningful work can ask a lot of us. Social and political, climate and environmental challenges, funding uncertainty, difficult workplace dynamics, and growing responsibilities can make it hard to think clearly, stay present, and lead well—even when we care deeply about the work.
Our coaching creates space to step back from the demands of work, make sense of what’s happening, and explore how you want to respond. We draw on coaching, systems thinking, whole-person development, and practical reflection to explore patterns, pressures, priorities, and the choices in front of you.
How We Work with Clients
-
1:1 Coaching Tailored to You: Coaching starts with your actual circumstances—whether you’re navigating a demanding role, a new leadership position, difficult workplace dynamics, or a significant season of change.
-
Space to Slow Down and Clearly: We create space to step back from the reaction cycle, sort through what’s happening, recognize patterns, and consider what matters most.
-
Reflection That Leads Somewhere: Reflection is paired with practical exploration. We use thoughtful questions, exercises, and tools to turn what you’re noticing into choices, experiments, and next steps you can take into your work and life.
-
Resilience for the Real World: We explore what helps you stay grounded and responsive when the challenges aren’t going away. That might include reflection, mindfulness, boundaries, perspective-taking, or other practices that fit your circumstances.
What to Expect
Coaching begins with where you are right now and the reality you’re navigating. From there, we work through three connected stages:
-
Understand What's Happening: We explore the beliefs, patterns, pressures, and expectations shaping how you’re experiencing your current situation. Together, we look at what’s within your control, what’s not, and where you may want to approach things differently.
-
Get Clear on What Comes Next: We create space to step back from the noise, reconnect with what matters, and get clearer about how you want to lead and live in your next season.
-
Put It Into Practice: We turn what you’ve explored into intentional action—trying new approaches, noticing what happens, and adjusting along the way.
Every session is grounded, practical, and tailored to your circumstances. We make space to think through what’s happening, explore what you want to do differently, and try approaches that make sense for your life and work.
Coaching isn’t about doing more. It’s about creating space to think clearly, stay grounded, and lead with intention. You don’t have to care less—you may just need a different way of carrying the work.
